Immortal Beloved
Our Story.
Immortal Beloved was founded in Washington, DC, in 2009 by Kelly Gorsuch, a renowned haircutter. After parting ways with his first salon, Kelly set out on an independent path to create a space dedicated to approachable, fashion-forward hairdressing that prioritizes the guest above all else.
At the heart of the brand is Kelly’s signature dry-finishing techniques and undone hairdressing style, which he personally trained every cutter in the company to master. His core philosophy remains steadfast: stylists collaborate closely with guests to deliver what truly suits them—not pursuing art for art’s sake, but creating looks that enhance confidence and and suit the individual.
The name Immortal Beloved is inspired by Ludwig van Beethoven’s passionate love letters, in which he addressed his enigmatic, eternal love as his “Immortal Beloved”. Launched as a premium, client-centered hair salon—with its companion barbershop concept, Barber of Hell’s Bottom—Immortal Beloved rapidly rose to prominence. It earned consistent recognition on Elle magazine’s Top 100 Salons in America list and became a national standout for its exceptional artistry, warm hospitality, and innovative approach to the trade.
From the start, the team has specialized by discipline: stylists focus exclusively on either cutting or coloring. This compartmentalization sharpens expertise, enabling unparalleled skill and a superior guest experience—the ultimate expression of gratitude for the trust the guest places in us.
